In January 1989, Hourvash Pourkian founded her company Shamo Textil as part of a start-up initiative for the production and
sale of jeans and leisure fashion with her own brand label "Shamo Sport Jeans exclusive".
In 2001 the second label, Piano Due - made-to-measure costumes for business women - was added.
In December 2007, Hourvash Pourkian sold Shamo Textil and her brands to her suppliers
to focus more on association work.
Since 2008 she has also
been the managing director and partner of International Human Media GmbH, which produces image and documentary films.
